About the event
Víctor Rodríguez Núñez is one of Cuba’s most celebrated contemporary writers, with eighteen collections of poetry in Latin America and Spain.
This very special reading celebrates Victor's second visit to New Orleans. A city which thoroughly activates the poetic imagination. We are thrilled to host Victor in the enchanting main room of the Tigermen Den.
Katherine M. Hedeen is a prize-winning translator of Latin American poetry. She has translated more than thirty books by some of the most respected voices from the region into English.
Heeden has been a finalist for both the Best Translated Book Award and the National Translation Award. She is a recipient of the University of Wisconsin Press’s inaugural Poetry in Translation Prize, two National Endowment for the Arts Translation Project Fellowships, and a PEN Translates Award in the United Kingdom.
Heeden is an editor of the transnational and translational press Action Books. She resides in Ohio, where she is a professor of Spanish at Kenyon College, and in Havana, Cuba.
