Sami Abu Shumays is a violinist, vocalist, and leading performer and teacher of classical Arabic music, as well as a master of the maqam system. For anyone interested in learning Arabic music, this is an amazing opportunity. Sami has a deep understanding of the maqamat and is a fantastic teacher.

About the event
You can sign up for the workshops here
1. These workshops are distinct, but not cumulative, so you can choose to come to any or all of them!
2. We will be capping registration at 30 participants per workshop.
3. The price for each workshop is $15-$30. In order to complete your registration and secure your space in the workshop, please Venmo @Hannah-Pepper-2 . If you cannot use Venmo, we will follow up with you. All workshop fees will go towards covering the space rental and compensating Sami for his teaching.
4. The location for the Thursday and Friday workshops is the Tigermen Den (3113 Royal Street). The Location for Saturday's workshop is AMAANA Cultural Center (555 Lapalco Blvd Suite 110, Gretna).
Admission to Sunday's brunch and jam session, also at the Tigermen Den, can be purchased on the day of.
